You don’t have to follow someone just because they followed you. Of course, you should follow them if you find their content fascinating or relevant to what you want to see. Reciprocity is a wonderful thing. However, you are not compelled to follow everyone. You’ll be less likely to use Instagram if your feed is full of photographs and content that you don’t appreciate.

To expand your fan base, don’t follow someone only to unfollow them later.
